SKINNY STUFF: Anticipation...

September 11, 2017 - We left the house at 5:30 am for the airport. Our old friend from our California Days (Richard Curtis) volunteered to take us to the airport. Thank goodness! He had a big truck for all of our bags. I have two big suitcases (50#s each) and a carryon (plus my giant purse), Kevin has two big suitcases and also his big army duffle bag and his carryon. We could NOT manage them all alone! But we checked in with no problem and made it to the SLC airport. Austin was there to pick us up and then the nerves began! I was starting to freak out a little. Kevin was too though he probably wouldn't admit it. (I forgot to mention we were set apart the night before by Dan Barker and we had invited the Hamblins. Bishop Biggs came too). It was short and sweet. Anyway, it was so good to see Austin. He was so cute. He brought Kevin a BIG cookie and me a donut! So thoughtful! He took us to pick up Tori and then to the MTC. They helped us unload the suitcases and they walked all around the MTC with us (even though they probably weren't supposed to). It was sad to say goodbye, but we will see them off and on this week. We were taken to immunizations, where they said I had to get another Hep A shot. We listened to some instructions and then went to lunch. We had already dropped off our bags in our room. We went to a class and then they organized us into districts. Kevin is the district leader! We have 4 couples total in our group. We skipped dinner and hurried down to Austin's house. We visited with him and Tori till 6. We totally missed the fireside. We had AZ time on our watches. We came home and went to bed.
